Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026
This policy explains what happens to your data when you use WiFiPeer. In short: we do not store your files, and the files you transfer never pass through our servers.
Your files
Files are transferred directly between your two devices using an encrypted WebRTC connection. They are not uploaded to, stored on, or processed by our servers. Once a transfer session ends, nothing about the file remains.
The signaling server
To help two devices find each other, a lightweight signaling server relays a small amount of connection information (technical handshake data) between them. It does not receive file contents. Session identifiers are random and temporary, and expire automatically.
Cookies and advertising
We display ads through Google AdSense to keep the service free. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. Third-party vendors and ad networks may also use cookies; you can review Google's policies at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Consent for visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland
Where required, we ask for your consent before advertising cookies are used, through a consent management prompt. You can change your choices at any time using the privacy or consent options on the site.
Analytics
We may collect anonymous, aggregate usage information (such as page views) to understand how the site is used. This does not identify you personally and is never linked to your file transfers.
Children
WiFiPeer is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top reflects the latest revision.
